My cat has developed a bald patch. How do I stop him licking it?

The vet put a collar on him, but he got very stressed and found it hard getting around with it. Because he couldn't find his tray, he weed all over my bed. After that, I promptly removed the collar, but unfortunately, the bald patch has reappeared and he is still continuing to lick it.
