Should the death penalty be abolished?

It should be abolished worldwide. Penal rehabilitation should be used to stop overcrowding in prisons. The inmates should get counselling (ex:anger management, mental health counselling, substance abuse counselling, psychotherapy etc.) to have them reintegrate into society. Why should taxpayers' money be wasted to keep the prisoners fed?
