Mathematics PRO only ! ( Algebra )?

let x be the number of nephews. and y be the number of eggs distributed. she distributed 3 egg tarts to each nephew therefore 3x=6 -equation(1).(since she had 6 egg tarts). now 6-k= the number of egg tarts distributed that is 6-k=y. therefore 6=y+k - equation (2). therefore from equations (1) and (2) x=y+k/3. therefore number of nephews = y+k/3. May be i am wrong. i am not sure. where did you get that question from?.
